
Steven Smith
Executive Chairman
Steven Smith serves as the Executive Chairman of INYO Broadcast Holdings
Mr. Smith was the former Chairman and CEO of Journal Communications Inc. He was elected CEO in March 1998 and Chairman in December of 1998 (he retired in April 2015). At the time of Smith’s retirement, Journal Communications owned 14 television stations and 34 radio stations, and had completed a merger with E.W. Scripps to create the 12th largest television station owner by household coverage
Mr. Smith also served on the Board of the Newspaper Association of America where he acted as Chairman of the Audit Committee and Public Policy Committee (2006-2014) and was a Director of Badger Meter (2000-2017)
During his time in Milwaukee, Mr. Smith was Chairman of the Greater Milwaukee (2005-2007), Chairman of the Board of Trustees at The Medical College of Wisconsin (2006-2008), Chairman of the Faye McBeath Foundation (2005-2008) and Co-Chair of the Safe and Sound Initiative (1998-2001)
John Chachas
Chief Executive Officer and Board Member
John Chachas serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is a Board member of INYO Broadcast Holdings
Mr. Chachas founded Methuselah Advisors in 2010 and is the Co-Managing Principal of the firm
Previously, Mr. Chachas served as Managing Director in the Global TMT Group at Lazard from 2002 to 2010, served as Managing Director of Merrill Lynch & Co. from 2000 to 2002, and as Managing Director in the Global Media & Telecom Group at Credit Suisse First Boston where he worked from 1990 to 2000
Mr. Chachas and his family are the principal owners of Gump’s, a 159-year-old boutique luxury retailer located in San Francisco
Mr. Chachas serves as a Trustee and member of the Investment Committee responsible for the endowment of the American College of Greece in Athens, Greece
Mr. Chachas received his B.A. from Columbia University in 1986 and MBA from Harvard Business School in 1990
Shea Clark
Executive Vice President, Station Operations
Shea Clark oversees the broadcast engineering and operations strategy for INYO’s station group
Specializing in over-the-air reach, he has completed, managed, or supported the mandatory FCC Spectrum Repack, the industry transition from analog to digital and dozens of other broadcast technology deployments. Over his 23+ year career he has performed countless transmitter and studio moves, relocations and upgrades, including a business model conversion to CentralCast which included 50+ station installations. Other career milestones include developing technical training programs, and hub location buildouts and upgrades. He also played a technical role in the support of the Open Mobile Video Coalition for mobile broadcast.
Shea was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. His undergraduate studies focused on Engineering Technology, Business Administration and Management/Leadership from St. Petersburg College. He completed his graduate studies in Business Communications at the Extension School of Harvard.
Grant Boren
Chief Financial Officer
Grant Boren serves as the Chief Financial Officer of INYO Broadcast Holdings
Previously, Mr. Boren worked for Deloitte Consulting where he advised clients on M&A, performance improvement, and growth strategy. He served clients across the TMT and Consumer industries
Early in his career, Mr. Boren held various FP&A roles within Target Corporation
Grant is a native of Vona, Colorado. He received his B.S. from Brigham Young University and MBA from Harvard Business School
Michelle Brester
Director of HR and Legal Services
Michelle Brester serves as the Director of HR & Legal Services of INYO Broadcast Holdings. After joining INYO, Michelle established INYO’s human resources department and now oversees employee benefits programs and company policies. She is also responsible for FCC compliance for all INYO television stations.
Before joining INYO, Michelle served as a litigation paralegal for two partners of a law firm for 17 years. Her areas of specialty included complex civil litigation matters, federal black lung, and family law.
Michelle received her associates degree in paralegal studies from Mountain West College and her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Utah.
Diane Dougherty
Board Member
Diane Dougherty is a television station industry executive with deep experience in local, regional and national spot TV sales
Most recently, Ms. Dougherty Chachas was a national account sales executive with Capital Cities/ ABC where she worked for 15 years, including in management
Prior to that, Ms. Dougherty Chachas worked in TV sales at TeleRep (Cox Television) and SelTel
Ms. Dougherty Chachas received her B.A. from Barnard College
María Eugenia Ferré Rangel
Board Member
María Eugenia is a leader in the global media industry, a powerful voice for Latino/ Hispanic publishers and content producers and a committed representative of women-led companies
Maria Eugenia has been Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, GFR Media since 2016. She also currently leads the development of strategic partnerships for Grupo Ferre Rangel, a real estate, data center and media conglomerate
Previously, Mrs. Ferré Rangel was the Chief Executive Officer at GFR Media from 2012 to 2016 and was the President from 2001 to 2012 of El Nuevo Día, the leading Spanish language newspaper in the United States
She serves on the Board of the College of Holy Cross and the International News Association. She is also engaged with multiple social empowerment initiatives including the Museo de Arte de Ponce (the largest art museum in the Caribbean), Centros Sor Isolina Ferre (a community development organization) and Sacred Heart University’s Ferre Rangel School of Communications
Lisa Knutson
Board Member
Lisa Knutson currently serves on the boards of WesBanco (Nasdaq: WSBC), a financial services company with $18 billion of total assets, and BlueAnt Media, a privately held, $230 million revenue content producer, distributor, and channel operator. She has also served on the board of TriHealth, a $2.5 billion revenue, nonprofit integrated health system.
Ms. Knutson is a qualified financial expert. Her experience includes chairing WesBanco’s Board Audit Committee and serving as CFO and COO for the E.W. Scripps Company (Nasdaq: SSP). Earlier in her career, she was a CPA and a Senior Audit Manager with Arthur Andersen.
While at E. W. Scripps, she led strategy and operations with full P&L accountability. Under her leadership, Scripps completed acquisitions totaling almost $4 billion, transforming from a mid-size local television and print media company into one of the nation’s largest local television station operators and a national digital media company that together reach more than 100 million US households.
Before joining Scripps, Ms. Knutson held leadership roles with Fifth Third Bank, Arthur Andersen, and PSARA Technologies.
Ms. Knutson earned a BS degree in accountancy from Miami University. She recently completed a certificate in cyber risk oversight from the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
Louis Zachary

Louis Zachary has been a Co-Managing Principal at Methuselah Advisors since 2016

Mr. Zachary previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of U.S. Satellite Broadcasting Corporation (which merged with Hughes Electronics Corporation (DirecTV) and is now AT&T) and member of the Supervisory Board of Agora S.A., a publicly listed media company in Poland
Mr. Zachary received his B.A. from Harvard College in 1981 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1985
